Effective January 1, 2012, the California Transparency in Supply Chains of Act of 2010 (SB 657) (hereafter called the "Act") requires retailers and manufacturers doing business in the State of California with more than $100 million in worldwide gross receipts to disclose efforts to eliminate slavery and human trafficking from its direct supply chain of tangible goods offered for sale. Yellow-Price's suppliers (hereafter called "Suppliers") commit, in all of their activities, to operate in full compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the countries in which they operate. Yellow-Price has implemented a Supplier Code of Conduct (hereafter called the 'Code') to ensure Suppliers adhere to these requirements.
The following disclosure for Yellow-Price.com. (hereafter called the "Company") is pursuant to the Act:
The Company requires that Suppliers implement this Code using the verification procedures described below. Violations of this Code may result in the immediate termination as a Supplier for the Company.
The Company monitors its supplier production facilities through audits by internal personnel and third-party visits. Audits include social accountability, which covers labor practices, health and safety, and environment protection. Suppliers' compliance with various labor practice points including forced labor, child labor, discrimination, work hours, wages and benefit, slavery, and human trafficking are audited.
By executing the Code, Suppliers certify their compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements applicable to their business, including but not limited to those related to forced labor, child labor, slavery, and human trafficking.
Supplies must manifest their commitment to the implementation of the Code's stated anti-slavery and human trafficking principles by maintaining appropriate internal controls to address compliance with the Act.
The Company provides periodic training to its employees responsible for procurement to familiarize them with potential signs of slavery and/or human trafficking.
